HEALTHY FUTURE SOUTH AFRICA Hope Nutrition has partnered with INMED Partnership for Children for over a period of three years to implement Healthy Future South Africa project in the informal settlement of Orange Farm, South of Johannesburg,Ivory Park and Limpompo. Healthy Future South Africa is a nutrition and school gardening education programme. It is operated in 27 primary schools. |

The objectives of the Healthy Future South Africa are:
- To train educators and school feeding volunteers in nutrition, health and hygiene
- To work with educators and school management to integrate this training
into the school curriculum.
- To supplement existing school feeding programmes with fresh
vegetables and fruits from the garden, thus creating more balanced
meals and promoting healthier eating habits.
- To utilize the gardens as “physical classrooms” where learners and educators
can learn about nutrition, agriculture, science, mathematics and other subjects.
- To generate income for the school by selling excess produce
to the community, thus helping to make the garden sustainable. |
